Hope that Punjab Govt will act according to orders of Supreme Court: Anil Vij

Ambala: Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij on Sunday said that he hoped that the Punjab Government will act according to orders of the Supreme Court. When asked about the Supreme Court's order to the Punjab Government to shift farmer leader Dallewal to a hospital by December 31, he replied that “Yes, I hope the Punjab government will not indulge in any kind of politics in this matter and will act according to the Supreme Court's orders.”

 

Ex CM OP Chautala’s ashes immersed in Western Yamuna Canal

Chandigarh/Karnal: Keeping in view the sentiments of the people of the state who could not attend the cremation of former CM and INLD supremo OP Chautala, the party workers took out an ‘Ashti Kalash Yatra’ covering all the districts of the state. On the third and final day of this Yatra on Sunday, the ashes of Chautala, who passed away on December 20, reached Karnal, where the party leaders paid tribute to the former CM and immersed the ashes in Western Yamuna Canal, said State president Rampal Majra.

  

ISRO’s PSLV-C60 rocket will put satellite carrying AI Lab into orbit today

Chandigarh: In a ground-breaking stride towards advancing space technology, Sourabh Kaushal, Raghav Sharma, and Sachin Sharma — three young space science researchers and founders of Smartcircuits Innovation, an ISRO-certified Space Tutor and member of International Astronautical Federation from Yamunanagar, Haryana — have developed a path-breaking experiment which is slated to be launched in a satellite being put into orbit by the prestigious Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) during the PSLV Orbital Experiment Platform (POEM) C60 mission, on December 30. The revolutionary experiment will be put on-board ISRO's PSLV-C60 rocket.

 

Bollywood Musical Night in Chandigarh on Jan 3

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Tourism and CITCO on Sunday announced Bollywood Musical Night to be held on January 3 at a private hotel, as part of their efforts to promote weekend tourism in the city. The evening will feature renowned Bollywood singer and composer Shreyas Puranik, known for his work in the movie Animal from the Satranga fame, said the UT official. He said that the event promises to be an unforgettable experience, with live performance, unlimited snacks and buffet, and beverages for the spectators. The beautiful lush green lawns and swimming pool of Hotel Mountview, with a lit-up area, will provide the perfect ambiance to start the first weekend of 2025.

 

Five-day Border Area Youth Exchange Program to begin from today

Chandigarh: A five-day Border Area Youth Exchange Program will be organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Chandigarh starting Monday. The program will take place at the Rural and Industrial Development Research Centre in Sector 19, Chandigarh, where 25 youth participants from the border districts of five states – Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand – will take part. District Youth Officer Sanjana Vatts said that these youth will stay in Chandigarh for the next five days and experience the rich culture of Punjab, Chandigarh, and Haryana. During the year 2024-25 the program will be organized at 50 venues throughout the country.

 

Incidents of vehicles colliding with animals on highways increasing: Kumari Selja

Chandigarh: Senior Congress leader and Sirsa MP Kumari Selja on Sunday said that the stray bovines roaming freely on the roads in Haryana are unsafe for themselves as well as for people. Due to stray animals, road accidents are increasing daily in the state, leading to the loss of many lives. In her statement, Selja urged the administration to take prompt measures to control these stray animals. With the temperature near freezing, stray animals should be captured and sent to cow shelters. Additionally, the government should release grants for these shelters without delay, she added. Selja further said that stray animals in several districts of the state have made life difficult for people, leading to frequent road accidents.
