PM Modi coins new acronym for JMM as ‘Jam kar ke khao’

Saturday, 02 March 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday coined a new acronym for ruling party—Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) as ‘Jam kar ke khao’ terming the ruling coalition as corrupt and dynastic government.

Modi addressing a public rally at Coal Capital Dhanbad said that the situation in Jharkhand has deteriorated from the day the JMM-Congress' corrupt, dynastic government was formed. The meaning of JMM has become 'jam kar ke khao'.

Modi hitting at JMM government said that Rangdaari (extortion) has risen in State as the state leadership pf JMM and Congress are busy in filling their coffers.

â€œJMM and Congress have only considered the Adivasis as their vote bank... They will never let the talented people of the tribal communities come forward. These dynasts only think of their own family… Modi is doing everything for your future... You are my family and the future of your children is my guarantee."

“For fast development in Jharkhand, better law and order and an honest government are important. But the dynastic, corrupt, and appeasing government of JMM-Congress has deteriorated the situation."

Modi targeting the JMM government said that ruling JMM has been hit by corruption allegations with party's executive president Hemant Soren forced to step down as chief minister last month.

“In Jharkhand, extortion has increased. Because of appeasement, trespassing has increased. JMM-Congress leaders are busy filling their safe vaults. They have created mountains of unnamed properties... We had seen heaps of coal, but heaps of cash were seen for the first time... This is your money... Whatever is looted, has to be returned, this is Modi's guarantee. When I take action against such people, they run away because they are aware of their deeds."

Earlier, the prime minister held a roadshow in Dhanbad, wherein he unveiled development projects worth more than â‚¹35,700 crore, an initiative focused on the fertiliser, rail, power, and coal sectors. He also dedicated to the nation the Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Ltd (HURL) Sindri Fertilizer Plant.

“Dhanbad and the surrounding area are of industrialists and labourers. The I.N.D.I Alliance opposes every scheme made by us or creates obstacles to it... We will continue the free ration scheme... We implemented 'One nation, one ration card' scheme," PM Modi announced

â€œCongress and its alliance parties are the biggest enemies of development... The foundation stone of the Electricity power plant of North Karanpura was laid by former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the end of the previous century... After that, the scammer government of Congress came into power and this project was shut down... In 2014, I gave a guarantee of reviving this project. Today, a number of houses are lit because of this power plant,” PM Modi said.

The Prime Minister also stressed that the slogan of “400+” was gaining momentum because “people have faith in Modi’s guarantees”. The PM and several top leaders of the Centre’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have exuded confidence about winning over 400 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha in the upcoming elections.

Modi’s visit to the eastern state comes in the run-up to this summer’s Lok Sabha elections, and days after the dramatic arrest of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren of the JMM, which subsequently selected Soren family loyalist Champai Soren to lead the state government.
