Sadar Hospital’s Doctors boycott work

On the call of IMA, all the doctors of the Country have been on strike for 24 hours. In this episode, all the doctors of Ranchi Sadar Hospital are also boycotting work and sitting on dharna.

In protest against the rape and murder of a female resident doctor in Kolkata, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has announced a 24-hour strike in all small and big hospitals across the country on Saturday.

IMA State Secretary Dr Pradeep Kumar Singh said that health services will remain disrupted till 6 am on Sunday. He said that we demand justice for the trainee doctor and condemn the vandalism done in the medical college and hospital by doing RG.

IMA State unit chief Dr Arun Kumar Singh said that 'all government and private hospitals as well as 'diagnostic centers' are also joining the strike. "During this time all elective services, outpatient department (OPD) services and elective surgeries will remain suspended. However, the strike will not have any impact on emergency services. Members of IMA Jharkhand, State Health Association (JHSA), RDA-CIP and other establishments will also take out a march in Ranchi," he added.

IMA's demands are immediate arrest of the culprits and strictest punishment after a speedy trial, declare health care institutions as special protected areas, enact a central law to protect doctors and health workers from atrocities and empower the National Medical Council to implement rules related to the safety of medical students and doctors.
