Three Maoists, including a woman, were killed on Monday in a gun battle with security forces in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh.
The gunfight broke out at around 4 pm in the forest of Abhujmad on the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border, Narayanpur Additional Superintendent of Police Robinson Guria said.
The intermittent exchange of fire lasted for a long duration following which the bodies of the three clad in Maoist uniform were recovered.
A cache of weapons including an AK-47 rifle was found at the encounter site. As many as 157 Maoists have been gunned down in gun battles in Bastar division this year.
