Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav’s Cabinet on Monday approved an increase in the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana allowance to Rs 1,500 per month, sanctioned a revised cost for the Acharya Shankar Museum project in Omkareshwar, cleared the installation of solar rooftop plants on government buildings, and created new judicial posts in Mandhata tehsil.

Under the Cabinet’s decision, women beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Yojana will receive Rs 1,500 per month from November, up from Rs 1,250 at present.

The Rs 250 hike will add Rs 1,793 crore 75 lakhs to the 2025-26 budget, taking the total estimated expenditure on the scheme to Rs 20,450 crore 99 lakhs. Launched in March 2023, the scheme initially provided Rs 1,000 a month before the amount was raised to Rs 1,250 in September the same year.

The Cabinet also approved a revised cost of Rs 2,424 crore 369 lakhs for the Acharya Shankar Museum, “Advait Lok,” to be developed in Omkareshwar under the Ekatma Dham project. The culture department will install a 108-foot multi-metal statue of Acharya Shankar and develop the museum, the Acharya Shankar International Vedanta Institute and Advait Nilayam. The work will be carried out by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Corporation.

In another decision, the government cleared the installation of solar rooftop plants on all government buildings through the Resco model under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Developers will install and maintain the systems for 25 years, while government departments will pay per-unit rates lower than current discom tariffs, leading to long-term savings.

The Cabinet also approved one new post of civil judge, junior division, and six supporting staff positions for the Mandhata court in Khandwa. The new posts will create an annual financial outlay of Rs 52 lakh 76 thousand.

The meeting, chaired by the Chief Minister at Mantralaya, began with the singing of Vande Mataram.
