NTPC committed to sustainable energy

NTPC Ltd, India’s largest integrated power utility, celebrated its 51 st Raising Day, marking over five decades of energising India’s growth and leading the nation’s journey towards cleaner and sustainable energy. The celebration was held today at NTPC’s Engineering Office Complex (EOC) in Noida, where Shri Gurdeep Singh, CMD unfurled the NTPC flag in the presence of Directors on the Board and other senior officials. Employees from across NTPC power stations joined virtually, reflecting the spirit of unity, purpose and progress that defines the NTPC family.

Addressing the gathering,  Singh said as NTPC celebrates its Golden Jubilee, we take pride in five decades of powering India’s growth and shaping its energy landscape. Our evolution from thermal to renewables and now into nuclear and green hydrogen embodies our enduring spirit of innovation, resilience and purpose. Guided by our people, innovation and vision, we remain committed to driving India’s transition towards a cleaner, smarter and more sustainable energy future. During the event,

the CMD released NTPC organization memory book “Remembering Our Roots”, a coffee table book on NETRA and announced the names of the young achievers of NTPC Family. Later, he graced a virtual inauguration of newly-constructed guest house “Sangam” at Unchahar, UP and Ujjivan Ayush Kendra at Kayamkulam, Kerala besides various applications made by IT.

Similar programmes are being held across NTPC locations all over India, marking the completion of 50 th anniversary. NTPC Ltd. is contributing one-fourth of the India’s power requirements and has an installed capacity of 84,849 MW, with an additional capacity of 30.90 GW under construction, including 13.3 GW of renewable energy capacity. The company is committed to achieving 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032, strengthening Indiaand#39;s Net Zero goals.

With a diverse portfolio of thermal, hydro, solar and wind power plants, NTPC is dedicated to delivering reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity to the nation. The company is committed to adopting best practices, fostering innovation and embracing clean energy technologies for a greener future. Along with power generation, NTPC has ventured into various new business areas, including e- mobility, battery storage, pumped hydro storage, waste-to-energy, nuclear power and green hydrogen solutions.
