Samagra Shiksha Axom (SSA) and Tata-Nelco on Thursday entered into Memorandum of Agreement of `2,440 crore project to implement the Hub & Spoke Model in Skill Education across Assam’s secondary schools. Attending the function, Assam’s Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said this MoU with transform skill education in Assam. Around 75 per cent of this project will be funded by Tata-Nelco and Assam Government’s Samagra Shiksha will fund the 25 percent and in the phase-1 will be implemented in 10 hub schools and 70 spoke schools. Each Hub will run 10 emerging skill sectors, and each Spoke will run two sectors. Delivery mode will be through Satellite-based connectivity for expert training, supported by two trainers in every hub and spoke. Skill courses to be introduced are in Artificial Intelligence, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Robotics and Motivation Control, Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR), Addictive Manfuacturing (3D Printing), Drone Technology, Automobile and EV Technology, Design and Innovation, Computer–Aided Machining and Home Electronics, said the statement issued by SSA.
This visionary collaboration will revolutionise vocational & skill education, empower our students from Classes IX to XII, and align Assam with the spirit of NEP2020 by ensuring industry-aligned, employment-ready skills. Together, we are building the foundation for a skilled, innovative and empowered generation, said Education Minister Ranoj Pegu.
