AAP's Gopal Rai announces restructuring of party organisations

Sunday, 23 February 2025 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

Senior AAP leader and Delhi unit convener Gopal Rai held a crucial meeting at the party headquarters on Saturday with state office bearers of all frontal organisations. Rai announced that the party has decided to restructure and strengthen these organisations. " To assess their role in the Lok Sabha, district, assembly, and ward-level campaigns, an audit of all office bearers will be conducted and completed within a week. During the meeting, leaders also discussed key factors behind AAP's victories and losses in various constituencies," he said.

The meeting was attended by Purvanchal Wing President Akhilesh Pati Tripathi, Youth Wing President Pankaj Gupta, Legal Cell President Sanjeev Nasiar, Sanatan Wing State In-charge Ghanendra Bhardwaj, President Vijay Sharma, Auto Wing President Haider Ali, and OBC Wing President Ravinder Balyan, along with other state office bearers. State Organisation Ministers Yashpal Singh, Kamal Chaudhary, Ajay Rajput, and Suyogya Rajbela were also present. State Vice President Rituraj Jha also attended the meeting.

After the meeting, Rai shared details saying representatives of all frontal organisations of the party including the Purvanchal Wing, Auto Wing, Women's Wing, Youth Organization, Rural Wing, Lawyers' Organisation, RWAs, and Minority Wing, were present.

He further added that all state-level office bearers have been instructed to conduct an audit of the role played by different functionaries in the election within the next week. This includes Lok Sabha-level officials, district-level officials, assembly-level officials, ward-level officials, and members of frontal organizations.

"The party will evaluate their contributions, just as we have initiated the restructuring process of the main wing. Similarly, a restructuring of all our wings will be undertaken to strengthen our presence in areas where we had strong support and to address communication gaps wherever they existed," he added.

The AAP leader said, "Each wing will be responsible for ensuring that the newly elected government fulfills the promises made in its manifesto. Just as our legislative party will raise these issues in the assembly, our wings will highlight these concerns within their respective communities. Whether in the assembly or among the people, the AAP will play the role of a strong and constructive opposition."

Regarding the appointment of the Leader of the Opposition, Gopal Rai said, "The government has just taken the oath, and MLAs will be sworn in on the 24th, February. After this, we will finalize the Leader of the Opposition".
