CM reviews cleanliness in Tehkhand, Tughlakabad

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday carried out a review of cleanliness, waste management, and veterinary services in the Tehkhand and Tughlakabad areas of South Delhi. During the visit, she issued clear directions to officials to ensure the timely, transparent, and high-quality execution of all related works.

The Chief Minister inspected the CTU/GVP (Cleanliness Target Unit/Garbage Vulnerable Point) locations, the proposed C&D waste collection site, and the proposed FCTS (Fixed Compactor Transfer Station) in Tehkhand village. She then visited Tughlakabad village to review the CTU/GVP points and the proposed C&D waste collection site there.

She conducted a detailed assessment of the existing arrangements, progress of proposed structures, and future requirements related to sanitation and waste collection. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that all projects are completed within stipulated timelines and in accordance with stringent quality standards. Strengthening Delhi’s solid waste management infrastructure, she emphasised, remains a top priority for the Government, and work continues in mission mode to build a cleaner and more efficient Capital.

The Chief Minister also paid a surprise visit to the Rajesh Pilot Veterinary Hospital in Tughlakabad to review cleanliness, available facilities, and veterinary services. She instructed the hospital administration to immediately ensure proper hygiene, systematic arrangements, and a clean and safe environment.

Calling for urgent improvements, she directed that essential repairs be undertaken without delay and that veterinary healthcare services be made more efficient, timely, and of high quality. She asked officials and medical staff to enhance the availability of animal care services so residents and livestock owners in the surrounding areas can receive better access to treatment.

The CM said that animal welfare services are an important priority for the Delhi Government and that any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated. ‘Viksit Delhi’ as a clean, safe, and modern Capital equipped with robust civic infrastructure remains the Government’s objective.
