The Delhi Police on Wednesday organised a workshop titled “Cyber–Samvaad” for school teachers. The event, held at Adarsh Auditorium in the Police Headquarters on Jai Singh Road, was conducted in collaboration with the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi.
The three-hour session brought together around 350 computer teachers from various city schools. The focus was to educate them on the methods used by cybercriminals and train them in preventive measures.
In his opening address, Additional Commissioner of Police (PRO) Sanjay Tyagi said the initiative aimed to empower teachers to act as the first line of defence against digital threats faced by schoolchildren.
The chief guest, Devesh Chandra Srivastava, Special CP (Crime and PMMC), said the event marked an important step in the fight against cyber threats targeting minors.
In the first technical training session, Rajneesh Gupta, Joint CP, explained emerging patterns in cyber fraud and the systems available for redressal. The second session was led by Nishant Kumar, Director, I4C, who detailed Government policies and initiatives designed to protect citizens from cybercrimes.
Before the main cyber awareness session, Srivastva delivered a presentation on drug abuse among schoolchildren, urging teachers to stay alert to changes in students’ behaviour that could indicate substance use or cyberbullying.
In the first technical training session, Rajneesh Gupta, Joint CP, explained emerging patterns in cyber frauds and the systems available for redressal. He urged participants to follow the principle of “Stop, Think, Take Action” before responding to any suspicious online activity.
The second session was led by Nishant Kumar, Director, I4C, who detailed government policies and initiatives designed to protect citizens from cybercrimes. He shared best practices for keeping students safe online, including the responsible use of social media, strong password habits, and the need for open communication between teachers, parents, and students about online risks.
