DTC to expand EV charging infrastructure

The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is set to boost its electric vehicle (EV) charging network by installing facilities for heavy commercial vehicles at nine depots across the Capital. This initiative is part of the Delhi government’s broader plan to fully transition the public transport fleet to electric vehicles within the next year and a half. According to a transport department official, the DTC has begun establishing new charging infrastructure at its depots in Rohini Sector 37, Keshopur, Nangloi, Kalkaji, Sukhdev Vihar, Nand Nagri, Ghazipur, and Hasanpur. The estimated cost of the project exceeds Rs 31 crore.

Each site will feature 1,600 KVA compact substations and 240 KW chargers, capable of powering hundreds of buses and other heavy commercial vehicles.
