GGSIPU ranks 258th in QS Asia Rankings 2026

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi has New Delhi, has secured 258th position in Asia and 56th in Southern Asia in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026 thereby recording a remarkable advancement.

This marks a significant improvement from the previous year’s ranks of 320 in Asia and 81 in Southern Asia, underscoring the University’s sustained upward trajectory and growing regional prominence, a university statement said on Tuesday. The QS Asia Rankings 2026 evaluate institutions on indicators such as academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty–student ratio, citations per faculty, international research collaborations and research influence.

According to the official QS Fact File, GGSIPU has demonstrated notable progress in Citations per Faculty, Academic Reputation and International Research Network (IRN) — reflecting the University’s expanding research visibility, scholarly impact, and collaborative strength across borders.

Padma Shri Professor Dr Mahesh Verma, Vice-Chancellor of GGSIPU, congratulated the University community, remarking: “This year’s rise in the QS Asia Rankings is a testimony to GGSIPU’s growing global reputation and academic excellence.

It reflects the collective dedication of our faculty, researchers and students, and reinforces our commitment to innovation, impactful research, and inclusive growth.”

Professor Gagan Deep Sharma, Chairperson, Global Ranking and Collaborations Cell, stated, “Moving up more than sixty places in Asia and twenty-five positions in Southern Asia within a year is a powerful indicator of institutional momentum.”

Over the past year, GGSIPU has implemented strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing research output, fostering international collaboration, and aligning institutional practices with global standards.

The University has cultivated a robust ecosystem that supports innovation, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary research. These developments resonate strongly with India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, both emphasizing global competitiveness and academic excellence.
