The National Zoological Park (NZP) would be reopening for visitors with effect from 8.11.2025. The Delhi Zoo informed that usual safety and preventive measures shall be followed after its re-opening for visitors. The NZP was closed for visitors w.e.f. 30.08.2025, after the report of a positive case of avian influenza virus in water waterbird aviary on 28.08.2025. All prescribed biosafety and surveillance guidelines issued by the competent authorities were followed thereafter. Guidelines under chapter 6 of ‘Action taken for preparedness, control and containment of Avian Influenza (revised 2021)’ issued by the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying were strictly followed during the closure period. Sampling was repeated after every 15 days for 4 times and all the samples from last positive case were found negative as per report of NIHSAD, Bhopal. The National Zoological Park remains committed to the health and well-being of its precious wild animals and the safety of the visitors and staff.
