Life Savers call for meeting of State Advisory and Review Committee for Hemoglobinopathies

The Life Savers has written to the Principal Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand to call for a meeting of the State Advisory and Review Committee for Haemoglobinopathies.

In a letter written to the Principal Secretary Atul Gera of Life Savers has written that a State Advisory and Review Committee for Haemophilia Thalassemia Sickle Cell Disease and other Hemoglobinopathy treatment and Daycare centres has been constituted with the objective of reviewing the program, performance identifying operational constraints and ensuring corrective operational steps to improve the work and to make comprehensive and Holistic approach towards the meaningful prevention, Care and Cure for the patients suffering from these diseases.

This committee was formed on 3.12.18 but unfortunately not a single meeting has taken place to make the program effective and meaningful.

He further writes, “Request you to kindly take appropriate action on the same as there are many issues which have not been attended to, a lot of daycare even after coming up not being operational, medicines not being provided to the children and many other issues which need immediate attention and action. An urgent meeting on this is needed of the Hour.”
