Three persons were injured after an explosion in a firecracker factory in Indore in the afternoon on Tuesday; the license of the factory expired last month, said police.
An explosion occurred after a fire broke out in a firecracker factory in Amba Chandan village of Mhow police station area of Indore. It was found that there was a fire in the room where chemicals were kept. Three employees sustained burn injuries and were taken to Choithram Hospital by the owner of the factory.
The accident happened around 3.30 pm. As soon as the information was received, the police and administration team reached the spot. Relief and rescue operations have been started. Also, investigation into the incident has also been started.
It was told that the blast in the firecracker factory was so intense that the people nearby got scared.
The three injured in the accident were identified as Rohit of Datoda, Arjun Rathore of Maharashtra and Umesh Chauhan.
The license of the factory was valid only till March 31
Firecrackers (Sutli bombs) are made in the factory where the blast took place. This factory belongs to Sakhir Khan, who is a resident of Rau.
ASP Rupesh Dwivedi says that Amba Chandan village is about 8 Km away from Mhow. There is a firecracker factory in a field of 4 bighas, about 5 km away from the village, towards the forest. The work of making firecrackers (Sutli bombs) was going on here. Preliminary information has revealed that the factory was licensed. The license was valid till March 31.
Collector Ashish Singh said that in the investigation conducted after the Harda accident, this factory was also investigated. 10 to 15 laborers were working in the factory. Right now our focus is only on the injured. They should get proper treatment.
