CM visits Kusmaria in Hospital

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Agriculture Minister Ramkrishna Kusmaria, who is admitted in a private hospital here on Monday. He enquired about Kusmaria’s health from him. Chouhan also held discussions with doctors. He wished a speedy recovery to Kusmaria.

 

govt distributes financial AID of Rs 375.92 cr

Bhopal: The State Government has distributed financial assistance in the State worth Rs 375.92 crore under National Family Assistance Scheme during the last 9 years. During last fiscal, financial assistance worth Rs 48.52 crore was distributed to 48,520 persons. Assistance worth Rs 49.65 crore was distributed to 50,036 persons during year 2011-12, Rs 50.62 crore to 50,627 persons in 2010-11, Rs 42.48 crore to 42,481 persons in 2009-10 and Rs 44.92 crore to 44,924 persons in 2008-09. Besides, assistance worth Rs 40 crore was distributed to 40,000 persons in year 2007-08, Rs 37.37 crore was distributed to 37,000 persons in 2006-07, Rs 33.88 crore to 99,033 thousand 889 persons in year 2005-06 and Rs 28.45 crore to 29,620 in year 2004-05. It is noteworthy that National Family Assistance Scheme is being implemented since August 15, 1995. Objective of the scheme is to provide lump sum assistance to the dependents in the case of death of a BPl person of 18 to 65 years of age. There is provision under the scheme to provide lump sum assistance worth Rs 10,000 to a bereaved family on natural or unnatural death of its earning member.

 

Afforestation work undertaken

Bhopal: Forest development works costing Rs 106.54 crore under Additional Central Assistance and Rs 19.36 crore under National Afforestation Programme have been undertaken in six Bundelkhand districts including Sagar, Datia, Chhatarpur, Damoh, Panna and Tikamgarh under Bundelkhand Package. These works mainly include plantation for developing new forests in forest areas and their maintenance. Evaluation, monitoring and project impact are being undertaken by State Forest Research Institute, Jabalpur and Tropical Forest Research Institute, Jabalpur. The package has benefited 1,913 villages. Of these 1,255 village have been benefited under Additional Central Assistance and 658 under National Afforestation Programme. Under Additional Central Assistance, soil and water conservation works have been undertaken in 89,083 hectare including contour trench, check-dam, percolation pit and tank, catch drain, gobian structures, construction and renovation of tanks, stop-dam, water recharging etc and plantation of 20.08 lakh saplings. Similarly, works of soil and water conservation, lantana eradication, deepening and renovation of tanks, fencing, grass-bed development, sowing of seeds and grass, distribution of blankets, pressure cookers, construction of kitchen sets etc have been undertaken under National Afforestation Programme.

 

sporting activities in MP lauded

New Delhi: Union Sports Minister Jitendra Singh has praised Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for Sports Brijendra Pratap Singh at a two-day meeting of states’ Sports Ministers in New Delhi on Monday. The Union Minister said that a number of works are being undertaken in Madhya Pradesh to promote sports and sportspersons. Players of Madhya Pradesh have achieved success at national and international level. He congratulated Brijendra Pratap Singh for increasing state’s sports budget to Rs 100 crore. At the meeting, consent was given to indoor multipurpose hall at Bhopal under Central Urban Infrastructure Scheme for sports infrastructure construction in the state. It also accorded consent to athletics track at Shahdol. Besides, the Union Minister also assured to provide imported equipment for international-level training to Sports Academies being run in the state. At the meeting, Madhya Pradesh Sports Department was also lauded for successful implementation of PAYKA scheme and exhorted other states to emulate it. Minister of Sports (independent charge) Brijendra Pratap Singh threw light on schemes being implemented in the state. He informed about “Maa Tujhe Pranam Yojana” implemented to give exposure to states’ youths to military activities on international borders of India and a planned and well managed system has been evolved for helping sportspersons win medals in Olympic-2020. Brijendra Pratap Singh invited Union Sports Minister Jitendra Singh to inspect state’s Sports Academies, which he accepted.

 

Minister inaugurates sports complex

Bhopal: Minister of State for Sports and Youth Welfare Brijendra Pratap Singh will inaugurate a sports complex constructed by the Sports & Youth Welfare Department at Mhow on May 28. Singh will also draw a lot for selecting 5 boys and girls each from Indore district for “Maa Tujhe Pranam Yojana”. Singh will also distribute goods to the sports persons. The Minister of Sports will also lay foundation stone for model school at village Mhow.

 

Yash tops in commerce stream with 95%

Bhopal: Yash Manwani, a student of class twelfth in Sharda Vidya Mandir of Bhopal has topped in the commerce stream of his school with 95 per cent marks in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results declared on Monday. Originally from Sagar, his family has been residing in Bhopal for several years now. His father Vijay Manwani is Branch Manager at the ING Vysya Bank here. Yash plans to become a Chartered Accountant (CA) in future. He told The Pioneer that he is busy preparing hard for the qualifying test on June 16 for the CA course. He was confident of clearing the exam.

 

Tomar condemns maoist attack in Chhattisgarh

Bhopal: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state President Narendra Singh Tomar has condemned the naxalite attack over the Congress party leaders in Chhattisgarh. Tomar said that it is unfortunate that many Congress leaders died in the naxalite attack. Tomar further said that country and society is shocked over this incident while BJP is also hurt. This is a clear attack on the democracy and every one has to fight against in unity. Tomar further said that in the wake of naxalite attack on congress leaders the Jail Bharo movement of BJP has been cancelled. Earlier the movement was scheduled from May 27 to June 2. Also the programmes scheduled for May 27 were been postponed to May 28 as the final rites of Congress leaders were carried out on May 27. The Annapurna-Antodaya movement will inform the citizens in every constituency about the benefits of Annapurna-Antodaya scheme.

 

Two suicide cases in 24 hours

Indore: Two incidents of suicides were reported from different parts of the city during the past 24 hours. In the first incident, police recovered the body of a woman from her house in lahia Colony. The deceased identified as Sapna (37), wife of Kailash Narwale reportedly committed suicide at her residence in lahia Colony.

The incident came to light on Monday morning.

After being informed about the matter, police rushed to the incident site and recovered body of the deceased. According to family members of the deceased, the victim had constructed a new house in lahia colony. Inauguration ceremony of the house had been held last night. After the function, when family members of the house went to sleep, the deceased committing suicide.

The incident came to light onlyon Monday morning  when the family members to their utter dismay found her hanging  from an iron angle in the tower of the house at 6 am. Family members immediately informed about the matter to the police who went to the incident site, recovered the body and sent it for the postmortem.

Though exact reason behind the incident was not known, police suspect family squabble as the reason behind the incident.

In a similar incident, an 18-year-old girl identified as Puja, daughter of Kedar Jirati, a native of Pipalda village committed suicide by consuming celphos tablets. The deceased died while undergoing treatment at Suyash hospital.
