The outlawed organisation issued a statement to the media saying that the outfit will not remain silent against those people and organisation, who have been trying to foil the movement of the people of Assam against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016.

The faction of the Ulfa led by its commander in chief Paresh Baruah alias Paresh Asom further said that the Hindu Bengalis in Assam had been instrumental in killing several sons of the soil during the language movement and anti-foreigners’ movement.

“Martyrs including Ranjit Borpujari, Surjya Bora etc. had been killed by miscreants of Bengali community during the language movement in Assam. Several others have also been killed during the anti-foreigners movement that took place between 1979 to 1985,” the statement said while adding that the Hindu Bengalis must learn to respect the movement started for protecting the legitimate rights of indigenous people.

“The Ulfa will never be a mute spectator to these kinds of ‘evil designs’. All the communal and political forces joining hands with the Indian Government’s evil designs against the indigenous people, must pay heavy price for the same,” he said.
