Tuesday, 17 May 2016 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU) is publishing a monthly news magazine titled ‘Atulya Bharatam’ in Sanskrit. The first edition of this book was released by renowned social thinker Suresh Joshi in the ongoing Simhastha during three day International Vichar Mahakumbh at Ninaura Village in Ujjain.

On this occasion University’s vice chancellor Brij Kishore Kuthiyala, Rector lajpat Ahuja, In-charge registrar Deepak Sharma and editor of the magazine Krishnachand Pandey were present. The main aim behind this publication is to preserve the language and encourage journalism in such languages.

Kuthiyala said that there goes a lot of discussion on journalism in Sanskrit language but never gets to see one magazine in Sanskrit that is news orientated. There are a lot of magazines in Sanskrit, but all of them are based on thoughts and not on news. This is the reason last year in the workshop conducted on All India Sanskrit Journalism at MCU the University took a decision to publish a Sanskrit magazine. Possibly it is a one of its kind magazine, he added.

Joshi praised this decision and the editor of this magazine who is one of the renowned scholars of Sanskrit Krishnchand Pandey. In the magazine contemporary thoughts and current News will be published. Also a course to learn Sanskrit will be included in the magazine. In this course there will be translations of Hindi words and small sentences. In the magazine there will also be information on literature and lifestyle.
