Krishi Karman Award for MP 5th time

Madhya Pradesh was conferred with prestigious Krishi Karman Award of the Indian Government fifth time constantly.

This award has been conferred for the year 2015-16 in wheat production category. State will get trophy, citation letter and a cash reward of Rs 2 crore. Commissioner Agriculture and Horticulture of the Union Government SK Malhotra informing about the Krishi Karman award through a letter has congratulated and extended best wishes to the state government.

 Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan extending best wishes and congratulated farmers, all the officers of the agriculture department and organisations connected with agriculture development. Madhya Pradesh has become the leading state in the field of wheat production getting Krishi Karman award fifth time constantly. Agriculture growth rate of the state is estimated 25 per cent this year.

 Madhya Pradesh has left behind Punjab and Haryana states which are known for maximum wheat production traditionally in the country.

An increase of 7.64 percent has been registered in wheat production in the year 2015-16 in comparison to 2014-15. Wheat production was 171.03 lakh tonne in 2014-15 which has gone up to 184.10 lakh tonne in the year 2015-16.

 This achievement has been attained with the hard work of farmers and cooperation of agriculture scientists, experts and field team of agriculture department.
