To discuss various aspects of sustainable water management, the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) is organizing two-day 'First International Conference on Sustainable Water Management', from Monday.
The Conference, to be held at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Mohali campus, under the aegis of ongoing National Hydrology Project (NHP) of the Union Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, is expected to witness the participation of delegates from India and across the World.
Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat would be the Chief Guest and Union Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation’s secretary UP Singh will be the Guest of Honour of the Conference on December 10.
BBMB spokesperson said that the Conference would see convergence of renowned water resources experts in academia, industry, utilities and research institutions and in other related disciplines from across the world to brainstorm and deliberate on various aspects of sustainable water management, that is meeting the needs of present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own water needs.
The Conference would provide an interactive platform for eclectic brainstorming and sharing path breaking ideas and case studies in respect of flood and drought management, hydrology, e-flows, inter-basin water transfer, climate change, intelligent decision support system, storage projects, etc. to address pressing issues regarding sustainable management of water resources.
