A six-year-old girl child kidnapped from Delhi’s Kirti Nagar on September 6 this year, was traced and found from Kurukshetra on October 17. The child’s chilling ordeal was captured in CCTVs after police analysed the route the accused took across the city.
According to police, the accused was seen picking her up on September 6, while she was playing and took her to Kotha number 41 in GB road and then to New Delhi railway station.
The entire movement was captured in CCTVs along the city but ended when heavy rain crashed a camera at the railway station.
“Police then began searching for her in other States and footages of the person and the child was flashed in All India Railway Network System and Child Welfare Committees were informed accordingly. The child was traced in Kurukshetra and found on October 17,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Monika Bhardwaj stated.
“Under the “NIGEHBHAN” Scheme, of Delhi Police numerous CCTVs have been installed in the vicinity in collaboration with the RWAs and Market Associations.
CCTVS of the area were analysed and the girl child, who was wearing a white colour frock and playing. Further on repeated analysis of CCTVs revealed a very faint image of a person wearing blue colour shirt and slue colour jeans carrying the child.
Taking this image as the first clue, anticipating the necessary path taken by the culprit and going through all the CCTV cameras falling on the route the path of the accused was confirmed,” the DCP revealed.
