Brahmapur Muslim Association holds mass weddings

Monday, 24 September 2018 | PNS | BRAHMAPUR

The Ganjam Muslim Cultural Association organised a function here on Sunday where 12 poor couples got married of which nine were Muslim couples and three were Hindu couples.

Local MLA Dr Ramesh Chandra Chyau Patnaik, district Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange, DIG of Police (SR) Ashish Kumar Singh, Brahmapur SP Pinak Mishra, Ganjam SP Brijesh Kumar Rai and Brahmapur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) Commissioner Chakravarti Singh Rathore attended as guests. The association every year holds this unique philanthropic activity by conducting marriages for the poor who cannot afford wedding expenses on their own.

The association solemnises multiple marriages at a time under one roof where religion, caste and creed is no bar.
