Capt launches anti-drug campaign of Bathinda police range

Monday, 08 October 2018 | PNS | Killianwali (Sri Muktsar Sahib)

As part of Punjab Government’s ongoing campaign against drug abuse, CM Capt Amarinder Singh on Sunday launched an anti-drug initiative of Bathinda Police Range to sensitize youth about the ill-effects of drugs and enable them to lead a healthy life.

Chief Minister released a banner with a message ‘nasha maut daa chittar hai, Punjab sarkar tuhadi mittar hai’ (Drugs are a reflection of death and Punjab Government is your friend) to the youngsters to abstain from drugs.

On the occasion, IG Bathinda Range MF Farooqi apprised the Chief Minister that 60,000 posters and 450 flex boards would be installed at strategic locations across three districts of Bathinda, Sri Muktsar Sahib and Mansa under the auspices of various social organisations.

He said that these boards would bear mobile numbers of concerned Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), Circle Officers and Control Room to facilitate people to give information regarding persons involved in drug peddling, besides helping those who wish to shun drugs.

The information related to the identity of the complainant in this regard would be kept confidential and strict action would be taken against the drug peddler. Likewise, the concerned police officers or officials would also render all possible assistance to the addicts for their treatment and rehabilitation. These hoardings or posters would be put up in all villages, towns and cities.
