The Director General of Border Roads (DGBR), lieutenant General Sanjeev Kumar Shrivastava visited Project Shivalik headquarter on Monday to review the progress of the works of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) assigned to Project Shivalik.
Reviewing works underway and planned by BRO in Uttarakhand, the DGBR examined the criticalities and extended his full support towards providing additional resources for overcoming the challenges.
He conveyed the urgent need to upgrade and incorporate alternative/better technology and materials to meet challenges of terrain and weather, in the works undertaken by the BRO to speed up the progress, save time and keep pace with the given timelines. During the progress review, he emphasised on construction, rehabilitation and repair works on important border roads.
He issued special instructions to the officers for timely completion of detailed project reports of the all-weather road project assigned to BRO. The DGBR expressed satisfaction over the work done by the Project Shivalik.
He is also slated to inspect the ongoing road work in Joshimath, Malari and Girthidobla-Sumna-Rimkhim areas on Tuesday. Project Shivalik chief engineer Umesh Chandra Mehta and commander of 21 BRTF colonel SS Makkar will accompany him on the inspection.
