Guv offers prayers in Badrinath on Vijay Dashami

Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya offered prayers at Badrinath shrine on the occasion of Vijay Dashami on Friday. She was accompanied by her husband Pradeep Kumar Maurya on the occasion.

After paying obeisance at the shrine, the Governor later chaired a meeting with district level officials to review implementation of centrally-funded schemes. She directed the officials to expedite the execution of various central schemes and achieve cent per cent target. She reviewed the status of various central schemes including Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana along with works undertaken for health and the law and order situation. She stressed on raising public awareness and making adequate arrangements for road safety. Reviewing the medical treatment facilities, she also spoke of seeking the assistance of army hospital doctors in emergency situations. Stressing on promoting the use of jute bags made by women self help groups, she said that this could boost efforts for making Badrinath polythene- free.

The Chamoli district magistrate Swati S Bhadauriya informed the governor about the progress in various schemes and works. She said that considering the major shortage of teachers in the district, e-learning programme had been initiated.

Later, the governor also visited the border area village of Mana where she interacted with the local women. The Chamoli superintendent of police Tripti Bhatt, Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee chief executive officer BD Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
