Hry to develop 134 places around 48 Kos of Kurukshetra

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Friday said that on the occasion of Dussehra festival, we all should take a resolve to eliminate the evils from the society so as to make India an ideal country by following the path  of righteousness shown by Lord Rama.

The Chief Minister was speaking during Dussehra Poojan in Panipat. Transport Minister Krishan Lal Panwar was also present on this occasion.

The Chief Minister said that Dussehra symbolises the triumph of good over evil. This festival inspires us to end all evils and to adopt values and virtues in life.  The festivals are a symbol of our rich cultural and religious heritage, he added.

Manohar Lal said that the State Government would develop all 134 places around 48 Kos of Kurukshetra falling in five districts namely Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Jind and Panipat.

 He said that works are being done to develop Kurukshetra as a pilgrimage from tourism point of view.

The Chief Minister further said that when the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi had launched the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Programme, the sex ratio in the state was 837, which has now increased to 931 girls per thousand boys. The way the state has succeeded in this programme, we have to eliminate all evils from the society and provide corruption-free environment to people and take the state to new heights in the field of education, he said.

Similarly, on the occasion of Jayanti of  father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi on October 2, 2015, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched and it is matter of pride that Haryana has bagged first place in  Swachh Survekshan Grameen, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahamandaleshwar Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj said that festivals are linked with our history and traditions. On this auspicious day, we should eliminate social evils such as drugs, female foeticide and pollution from the society, he added.
