Marathi Sahitya Academy to organise ‘Swar Deep Utsav’

A musical event on Diwali will be organised in the city by Marathi Sahitya Academy Madhya Pradesh Cultural Council. The Swar Deep Utsav will be inaugurated on Tuesday at Garden Restaurant at 6:30 am.

It is to be noted that in the Marathi community, there is a tradition of celebrating Roop-Chaturdashi a day before Diwali. On this day, the housewives and family members go to the temple for the Devdarshan, they take bath with aromatic traditional beauty packs made out of turmeric and milk. Interestingly, this beauty pack is prepared specifically before sunrise.

During this time, songs of traditional Marathi festivals based on different ragas in the houses are also being sung. Under this festive series, the 'Swar Deepotsav' Diwali dawn is being organized by the Academy, in which there will be traditional Marathi musical performance by singer Shonak Abhisheki from Pune.

His performance will be based on the ragas which are usually sung during the evening or the dawn time.

Abhisheki is a popular singer of Indian classical music. He is the son of Padmashree Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki. He received his primary education of singing by a popular singer KamlataApart from this, they were received as their father-in-law's guru. He has the right to noble classical music, dramatic music, bhav music. He performs semi classical singing as well.

He has performed in various countries and has been awarded many awards. In this event Jitesh Marathe will accompany him on the Harmonium, Ramendra Singh Solanki on Tabla, and . Anuja Borude on Pakhavaj.i Tambe of the Jaipur family.
