Athamallik MLA Sanjeeb Kumar Sahoo on Monday requested Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to direct the Forest Department to shift tigress ‘Sundari’ from the Satakosia Wild Life (WL) Division at the earliest.

In a letter, Sahoo also urged Patnaik to pay due compensation to the family members of deceased Trinath Sahoo.

The MLA alleged that Wild life Institute of India (WII) and the Union Government are responsible for the law and order situation on NH-55 that caused of damaging of Government properties.

‘Sundari’ was left in Satakosia WL Division by the Forest Department and the WII two/three months back.

But she has entered village area and hunted humans.

On Sunday, the tigress killed Trinath Sahoo of Tainsi village under Angul police limits. In protest, villagers blocked the NH-55 and damaged Government vehicles.

A clash was also erupted between police and common people while the latter demanded shifting of Sundari and payment of compensation to the diseased family.

Earlier in August, Sundari had also killed another woman and domestic animals in the area.

On Monday, Sundari killed a bullock in the area. Four forest staffs are missing as on date.

Hence, the Government should take immediate steps  to maintain peace and harmony in Athamallick constituency, Sahoo urged further.
