UNICEF holds exhibition of photos by local adolescents

Sanju Damor, Pinki Baria, Sheela Damor, Anju Chauhan, Anjali Singare and Sandhya Singare from  Maandal Group of Meghnagar, Jhabua, are in Bhopal to showcase their exhibition of images taken by them after learning skills of camera, which they had picked up for the first time.

Exhibition highlighting 70 images of adolescents exhibiting life in Jhabua, health, sanitation, education, sports was displayed in Bhopal today titled as Maandal, photo exhibition from eyes of adolescents. It was inaugurated by Principal Secretary Women and Child Development JN Kansotia who motivated these adolescents from Meghnagar of Jhabua and praised their efforts. He said that this is interesting to see their expressions and interacted with the adolescents present. This is joint effort of Vasudha Sanasthan and UNICEF in Jhabua as part of their adolescent empowerment initiative.

Michael Juma, Chief, UNICEF, Madhya Pradesh said that every child deserves to be given a fair chance to their right to participation, and exhibition of photos by Jhabua adolescents in lieu of World Children's Day clearly reaffirms that every child has great potential and dreams which need to be nurtured and supported by policy makers.

Diwakar Shukla of Jagran Lake City said effort of adolescent is exemplary and acknowledged their efforts and Sachin Jain, Vikas Samvad, said that lets all of us use the images done by these kids and others for next year calendar, effort like this needs to be taken forward.

Gayatri Parihar, Vasudha Sansthan which in partnership coordinated this effort with UNICEF said that adolescents were trained as per the plan worked out by Anil Gulati, Communication Specialist and by Satish Dave, Piyush Sharma and Parth Gandhi.

Anil Gulati, Communication Specialist said it is encouraging to see the images taken by them which are of professional standards and we need harness this potential.
