Amway India on Saturday launched digital literacy initiative for government schools at Tata Workers’ Union High School at Kadma. As a part of this initiative Amway India will make computers available to over 5000 students studying in 14 schools.
Saryu Roy, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies applauded the initiative by Amway India and encouraged the children to adapt to the new age learning. Also present was Rajat Banerji, vice president, corporate affairs, Amway India.
Speaking to the media, Roy said, “Digital technology is evolving rapidly everywhere, and it is important that every child adapts to the change. Computer literacy is an important part of the overall development of a child and I appreciate the efforts of Amway India in this regard”.
Rajat Banerji said, “We, at Amway India have been relentlessly workingtowards spreading digital literacy. We have over the years set up 15 computer centers across 15 cities.In the first phase of this drive to create awareness about digital learning amongst the government schools here, we have contributed 26 computers to 14 schools in Jharkhand.Technology is a powerful tool for development today and every child needs to be equipped with digital knowledge”.
In sync with the government’s vision to digitally empower every citizen through the Digital India initiative, Amway India has been instrumental in setting up computer centers at various locations.
