Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday assured that the State Government would conduct a free and fair probe into the Una incident and the case is already transferred to the CID.

His statement came on the third day of monsoon session of Himachal Assembly, ending the two-day stalemate in the House over the issue.

As the House Assembly on Wednesday, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Mukesh Agnihotri raised the issue, alleging a political conspiracy into the matter.

“We did not attend the House proceedings for the last two days in protest against the Una incident, he said.

Notably, the opposition Congress MLAs led by leader of opposition Mukesh Agnihotri had staged a walkout from state Assembly during the last two days over the arrest of the personal staff of party leader and Una MLA Satpal Raizada.

The Congress had demanded the transfer of Una Superintendent of Police for being part of a “political conspiracy” to defame the lawmaker and the Congress party.
