In order to keep an eye on its land and properties in and around the Metro stations and also to identify encroachment on its land, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is going to conduct 'drone' survey of Line 1 (Red), Line 2 (Yellow), Line 5 (Green) and Line 6 (Violet) of its network.
All the sections where the drone survey will be conducted are part of Phase I project of Delhi Metro. The main aim behind the project is to keep a record, data of the land compare it with the future status of the plot.
"The work includes - Aerial mapping of DMRC land for the purpose of record keeping, and demarcating property boundaries. This will help in proper upkeep of land record and reserve the data to comparison with future status of land," said a senior DMRC official.
The drone survey will also help Delhi metro to keep a close eye on its property and also to avoid encroachment in and around the metro stations and its properties. Further, as per the official, the DMRC will hire a company on a contract basis to conduct the survey. The tender has also been floated for the project and the estimated cost of work is Rs 91.69 Lakhs.
"This will also help to identify any encroachment to DMRC land/properties. Liasoning and taking permission with concerned authority for conducting drone survey of DMRC land will be the responsibility of the contractor," said the official.
The Line-1 is the popularly known as red line, also the first corridor of DMRC, currently and the 29 km corridor connects Rithala in Delhi and Shaeed Sthal Bus Adda in Ghaziabad.
The Line-2, Yellow Line connects Samaypur Badli and Huda City centre in Gururam. The corridor consist 37 station with five major interchange station providing interconnectivity to Red, Blue, Majenta, Pink and Violet Line.
The remaining two Line- 5 and 6 is Green and Violet corridor of Delhi metro which connects Bahadurgarh and Badarpur. The Green Section consist 27 station connecting Inderlok to Bahadurgarh in Haryana. While the Violet Line is expanded over a 47 km with 34 stations connecting from Kashmere Gate to Raja Nahar Singh metro station in Haryana.
