ELC to be formed in each college under Voter Awareness Campaign

As per the Election Commission of India, Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELC) will be formed in each college under the Voter Awareness Campaign. Students will be groomed for the campaign and activities related to voter awareness for electoral literacy.

This club will conduct voter awareness activities throughout the year in the college and students around their residence.

The College Principal will be the patron of the club.

Two campus ambassador students will be appointed for this work in every club.

All the institutions have been directed to ensure that voter identity cards are made of all students above 18 and are distributed to them.

Every student of the college will visit atleast 10 houses around their residence and campaign for voter awareness and will help in getting voter-identity cards of people over 18 who have not got it made so far.

The list of persons more than 18 years of age will be given to the college. Students, who have successfully made the list by making practical efforts, will be honored with prizes and citation at college and district level.

Assistance of NSS, NCC students and students of the sports department will also be taken.

Debates, essay, painting and slogan competition is being organized by the college and district level and concerned university in the 9th National Voters Day celebration. These competitions will be held from January 15 to January 22, 2019.

At each level, maximum 8 selected students from each university who have secured first and second position in each mode will be included in the state level competition.
