Gang which implicated victims in false rape cases busted

Nishatpura police have busted a gang involved in blackmailing victims in the name of fabricating them in false rape case; four persons including two women were nabbed after one of the victims lodged complaint against the gang.

One of the victims who served jail for more than 3 weeks lodged complaint against the gang. Based on complaint police started investigation and found that the gang is involved in blackmailing and arrested four persons including two women.

The victim used to run a mobile phone store while his brother operates an electronic store where they have bought goods earlier. They asked for borrowing  Rs 5 lakh from the victim but he refused the gang threatened her and afraid of the threat victim deposited around Rs 80000 and when he refused to pay more complaint was lodged and he was arrested and jailed.

The women were found to be involved in flesh trade and were the main accused who would blackmail victims in the name of making false complaints of rape with them.

Among the nabbed accused Roopnarayan Giri has been booked for around 18 cases of extortion, attempt to murder, murder, assault he was working with Neepa Dhote for the past 8 years and have trapped several victims with the same trick.

The other two accused were identified as Deepankar Mandal and Rivana Baig. Deepankar has been booked for around 16 cases of fraud, assault and extortion.

During the investigation police found that the women are involved in flesh trade and once a victim was trapped they would extort money and in case victim would refuse the pay complaint was lodged with the police regarding and rape and later hefty amount was collected from the victim for compromise or withdrawal.
