nAssistance of medical colleges of the state will be taken to provide better and quality health services to the urban population. The expert services of professors posted in medical colleges will be taken for the purpose.
A strategy was chalked out in a two-day state-level workshop on ‘Involving Medical Colleges in Strengthening Initiatives under National Urban Health Mission.’ The workshop was held at capital city and it concluded on Thursday.
As per strategy, awareness will be created among people for maintaining better health, regarding diseases and the appropriate life style.
Medical colleges and urban health centres will work together for improvement of health standards. The workshop was participated by educators of all six government medical colleges and two private medical colleges of the state.
The medical college educators forwarded suggestions for effective treatment in maternal health, child health, non-communicable and communicable diseases. They also forwarded suggestions for strengthening urban health centres and reducing maternal and child death rates.
Dr Punit Mishra of AIIMS New Delhi, Dr B.S. Garg of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Science, Wardha and Dr Shanti Dani Minj of CMC Vellore presented community health education models.
