Jharkhand gets 2 trains, new Railway track

Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Union Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi today inaugurated two new trains—Ranchi–Tatanagar Intercity express and Hatia– Sanki passenger and 31 Km long Tatisilway-Sanki track under Barkakana-Ranchi railway project here on Thursday. The new trains will make it convenient for people to travel to Ranchi from Jamshedpur and nearby areas.

Addressing people during a ceremony on the occasion MoS Railways, Suresh Angadi said that Railways is connecting people from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Arunachal Pradesh to Gujarat. “We are committed to provide service to the people of the nation. Whatever is the requirement of the State, we will our best to fulfil the needs. The Railway employees are toiling hard to fulfil the requirements of the people of nation. Railways is for service of the people,” he said.

Talking about the long pending demand of regularisation of Shatabdi and Rajdhani Express trains, the Minister said that he has been made aware of the demands and will certainly bring the matter before the Railway Board and the Union Minister to fulfil the same. “The demand for opening zonal office of Railways will also be considered through proper channel. When Jharkhand is providing much revenue to the Centre, the aspirations of people here will also be fulfilled,” he added.

Angadi said that safety, cleanliness and train timings are three focus areas, which need to be given prominence by one and all. “We have been mostly successful in running trains in time and cleanliness at the stations and trains. We must also take a

 pledge today to shun use of plastics in trains. Ranchi is such a green place. Let us all make this a better place to live,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Raghubar Das said that people of the State are being benefitted due to double engine government. Several new railway lines and new trains have been started in last five years, many RoBs have been built. Also, he said that every three months meetings are being organised to expedite ongoing railway projects in the State.

Das said that the Prime Minister has always emphasised on connectivity.

As many as 36 crore people were included in the country's economy by running Jan-Dhan Yojana. New railways, waterways and roads have been built to connect people from one place to another. Under the UDAN scheme, now the common man is also capable of flying. Five areas of Jharkhand are connecting in it. Similarly, by connecting electricity to every corner of the country, people connected with the country and the world.

The CM called upon all the people to join the Fit India campaign launched by the Prime Minister on National Sports Day.

He said that it should be a mass movement just like cleanliness. People will be fit, then the country will be fit. With the fitness of the players, the country will be able to win more and more medals.

Urban Development Minister CP Singh, Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth, Purulia MP Jyotirmoy Mahto, MLAs Navin Jaisawal, Jeetu C Ram, Mayor Asha Lakra, Dy Mayor Sanjeev Vijaywargiya, DRM Neeraj Ambastha along with senior officers of Railways, Centre and State Government were present on the occasion.
