Thursday, 12 December 2019 | PNS | KENDRAPADA

Skipping classes, about 100 students of the Kendrapara Government High School on Wednesday came to the district Collector office and staged a dharna protesting transfer of their teachers.

The District Education Department earlier transferred nearly three teachers  three months back. Meanwhile, four teachers, who were  teaching  important  subjects, were now transferred from the school. Besides, the school didn’t have a HM.

“Look, the matriculation examination is now round the corner. The four teachers, who were transferred from the school, were teaching Mathematics, Science and English. We demand that the transfer order be canceled," said Yasmin Sultana, a Class-X girl.

The students, after their dharna for nearly an hour, returned empty-handed as the Collector was absent. When contacted, Collector Samarth Verma stated that the teachers would not be transferred until their substitutes join.
