State Water resources Minister Ramchandra Sahis has taken the breaking of Konar Irrigation Project branch canal very seriously and has said that the responsible persons will not be spared. On the directions of the Minister and Additional CS of the department AK Singh, Engineer in Chief Hemant Kumar has formed a three member probe team to investigate the lapses and submit its report within 24 hours. Singh had sought report from the chief engineer and in the preliminary report it was found that the breaking of the walls of canal could be due to rat holes. The Additional CS said that water supply has been stopped in the said canal and repair of the canal branch has started. The three-member team has reached the spot and is likely to come up with detailed report of the incident.
