Weather will play hide and seek as sporadic rains are likely to continue covering several parts of the State. There is a favourable condition of light to moderate rainfall accompanied with gusty winds, a weather bulletin issued by the MET Observatory Centre– Ranchi on Friday suggested. According to the weathermen, the present climatic condition is likely to persist for another few days.

In accordance to the bulletin, light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur in the southern districts of Jharkhand. “Post Holi as well, there is a good chance of light to moderate rainfall. The condition is quite encouraging as an effect of pre-monsoon season will influence the weather conditions, bringing more rainfall. The irregular rainfall will aid in bringing the abrupt increase in the temperature level down,” said Senior Scientist, MET Observatory Centre–Ranchi, RS Sharma.

The communique issued by MET Observatory Centre – Ranchi read, “Following the weather conditions, Jharkhand is expected to receive rainfall for another few days covering districts like East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega, Seraikela- Kharsawan including a few other places. Scattered rainfall will occur at several districts accompanied with gusty winds at 46 Kmph.”

“Following the weather conditions, heavy to moderate rainfall will occur in the south-western, central and north-western Jharkhand, accompanied with thunderstorm and gusty winds on March 26,” the communiqué further stated.

As per the Ranchi MET Observatory Centre record, the State Capital had received 39 mm rainfall in the recent days. “During the transition period, there is always a high possibility of rainfall and thunderstorm. The thunder squalls (severe thunderstorm), gusty wind and hailstorm is considered to be normal during the pre-monsoon season. Also, the strong system formulation and sturdy winds has influenced the weather conditions. The temperature will gradually increase,” added Sharma.

“The present weather condition is likely to have slight impact on the maximum and minimum temperature level. The maximum temperature will fluctuate in the range 33 degree Celsius to 35 degree Celsius whereas the minimum temperature will vary in the range of 18 degree Celsius to 20 degree Celsius. The wind speed is expected to be in the range of 46 Kmph,” Sharma further added.
