One booked for raping 27-year-old woman

Kotwali police has booked a man who held captive a 27-year-old woman and her two kids and sexually assaulted the woman for a month at Ambedkar Nagar. The complaint was lodged on Sunday.

Police said that the accused Shyamlal Maine was booked after victim posted with anti-encroachment squad of BMC lodged complaint regarding kidnap and sexual assault from March 12 till April 12.

In her complaint, victim stated that she had gone with the accused with whom she was acquainted to search for a rented house along with her two kids on a scooter. After reaching the area in Ambedkar Nagar, the accused locked her kids in a separate room and sexually assaulted her. He would lock her after sexually assaulting her and on Friday the victim managed to escape and reached Berasia at her sister’s house and reported the incident. The two then lodged complaint with the Berasia police.

Berasia police registered a zero FIR case and transferred the case to Kotwali where case of sexual assault and kidnap was registered against the accused. Victim told the police that the accused sexually assaulted her by threatening her of killing her children. The details of the accused are yet to be identified and search for the accused has been started.

Victim was in search of house in Kumharpura and accused lured her of house at low rates and after she got assured that he could avail a better house at low price she accompanied her and later sexually assaulted.
