Patwari: Will ensure private varsities to be part of body

Higher Education Minister Jitu Patwari has said that efforts will be made to ensure the participation of private universities in Madhya Pradesh Private University Regulatory Commission. This will not only enable use of innovations in the field of education, but it will be a successful attempt to bring Madhya Pradesh to the country's first level in the field of education.

Patwari was holding a review meeting on various issues with the vice-chancellors, Chairman of the governing body of universities of private universities on Thursday at the Madhya Pradesh Private University Regulatory Commission.

The Higher Education Minister said that innovation in the field of education is the need of the hour. It is essential to prepare children in this age on the formula of demand and supply. We will put in efforts to ensure that the private universities work in better coordination with the Government. Patwari said that skill University will be established in the state for skill development according to the modern needs along with traditional local skills of students. In addition to this, Institutes of Excellence will be opened in all divisions of the state. Patwari said that more than one lakh children have got registered so far in the online admission process which began on June 10. The Minister informed that the process of setting up of a higher institute in Bhopal has started for training of teachers in the state. In the institute, the teachers will be apprised with the new teaching methods and changes in the education sector.

He said that various programmes will be organized in all educational institutions from this session onwards on the 150th anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Patwari said that a policy will be made for Inter-University Sports Competition in private universities.

Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Smt. Salina Singh said that quality education is the goal for all of us. Private Universities should develop their own common portal and provide information about courses run by them, research, career counseling, placement etc. Besides, private universities should ensure compliance with the academic calendar of the Regulatory Commission.

Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Private University Regulatory Commission MS Parihar said that we will have to lay more emphasis on research and development. On the occasion, the Vice-Chancellors, Pro-Vice-Chancellors of various private universities discussed various issues.
