PWD forms special panel to look after development works

In order to ensure transparency and efficient functioning of its affairs, the Public Works Department (PWD) has decided to form special committees consisting of senior engineers and officers from different divisions to look after developmental works.

The committee will also ensure timely delivering of services related to public sewa, road maintenance work and revamp of the website and so on.

The decision was taken in a recently held meeting by the PWD and this committee will which take work on three sections such as re-structuring of PWD, improvement in website and performance based tender documents for road maintenance work. These committees will further conduct meetings with the concerned staffs and will prepare draft reports.

“These committees are formed for the efficient working of the department. The following committees shall conduct meetings at the required intervals and shall finalize the report,” said the circular issued by Abhimanyu Kumar, Director (Personnel), PWD.

The main aims behind forming such committee are to speed-up the work and maintain transparency in the department. “The committee will help to re-develop the working pattern as well as regulate the staffs. These committees will work on to make the department efficient and to maintain a smooth functioning. Besides, the website will be re-developed with adding vital features and providing separate platforms for the public where they can address their grievance as well as avail the services,” said a PWD official.

The first meeting of this committee will be held in March where they present the draft report.
