Students shine in CBSE class X results

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10th results were announced on Monday. Three students, two from Ranchi and one from Hazaribag, have topped in the State. Piyush Kumar Agarwal, a student from Angels High School, Shankarpur Hazaribag, Shubham Thakur of DAV Gandhinagar (Ranchi) and Shashank Kumar from JVM Shyamali have secured 494 marks out of total 500. Followed by these three, two students—Smriti Raj of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro and Snehal Mishra of Delhi Public School, Ranchi has secured 493 marks.

Apart from Shubham, Shashank Kumar and Snehal Mishra, the topper from State Capital are Girish Lodha and Praveen Raj both from Bridgeford School Tupudana and Harsh Kumar from DAV Gandhinagar have secured 492 marks out of 500 marks.

There are 13 students in topper ranks, who have secured marks between 494 and 492. Out of 13 students in topper list, six students are from Ranchi.

Compared with previous year, this year there has been an increase of 4.40 per cent results. In 2018, the pass percentage was 86.70 per cent, however, this year the pass percentage is 91.10 per cent.  Region wise, Trivandrum region has best results with pass percentage touching 99.85 per cent, followed by Chennai region with pass percentage of 99 per cent. Patna region under which Ranchi also comes has a pass percentage of 91.86 per cent. Dehradun, Delhi and Guwahati zones are below Patna zone.

In State capital, out of 296 students who had appeared from Delhi Public School, Sail township, 98 students have secured 95 per cent and above marks. Similarly, at JVM Shyamali out of total 321 students who appeared in the test, 120 students secured more than 90 per cent and above marks.  At DAV Kapildev out of 183 students who appeared in the test, 70 students secured 90 per cent and above marks. From DAV Kapil Dev, Abhishek has secured 98.8 per cent marks becoming school topper.

In Kairali School, out of 193 students appearing in the test, 61 students have fetched 90 per cent or above. Kritika Singh and Aakriti Raj two students from same school have received 96.6 per cent marks.

Swarn Chandra, a student of DPS Ranchi who has secured 473 marks out of 500 is elated over the results. Swarn has secured 100 marks in mathematics said, “I am happy with my results, but I had expected more in science, social science and English.”

From Taurian World School, 77 per cent students have secured first division with Harshit Saxena securing 93 per cent.  Dr. Subhash Kumar, Principal, Taurian World School had thanked and congratulated students for their hard work.

The students from other part of state too have secured good results. Himanshu Gaurav, Kumar Shivam and Kumar Roshan students from DAV Public School Hazaribag have secured 96.8 per cent marks.

Bokaro students once again performed exceptionally well in the Class X examination. Among the toppers, Smriti Raj student of Chinmaya Vidyalaya scored 98.6 per cent marks.

While Shruti Sinha and Krish, students of Holy Cross School Bokaro scored 98.4 percent and Anirvan student of Holy Cross and Priyanshu Ranjan student of DPS Bokaro scored 98.2 per cent marks in the exam, school authority informed. Forty-two percent of students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya scored more than 90 percent marks in the exam, informed Sanjeev.

Lakshya Jain from Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Jamshedpur topped city with 492 marks.  Revealing his success mantra, he said that study on a regular basis and work regularly, for that helps ease the pressure as the exams approach.  “I was surprised when I heard that I had topped in the CBSE board exams in the city. I was expecting to score above 90 per cent, but this percentage was definitely a pleasant surprise,” she conceded.

CBSE class X of Bihar and Jharkhand region acquired a total pass percentage of 91.86 per cent, a notch more than the national pass percentage of 91.10 per cent.
