Nutritionists suggest that our immunity comes down during monsoon, making us prone to several diseases. Teas, however, can do the job, says SHIKHA PURI

The monsoons are here, and it’s a welcome relief from the scorching summer heat. But, the rains also bring along a slew of seasonal diseases. We need to adjust to the nip in the weather and keep ourselves healthy.

When you sit by the window and watch the rain dance and listen to the pitter-patter of the raindrops, one gets tempted to have chai, pakoras or even samosas.

Health experts and nutritionists suggest that our immunity comes down during this season, making us prone to viral infection, seasonal flu, and stomach disorders. They suggest that you should increase the intake of immunity-boosting food during this season, like broccoli, almonds, turmeric and spinach. But you can also have calorie-free immunity-boosting teas.

The goodness of tea increases when you add herbs and spices to it. Tea blenders and tea tasters over the decades have made blends using traditional Indian spices and herbs, the perfect combination results in an exceptional cup of tea.  Here is a list of teas that have an outstanding flavour and taste which can boost your immunity.
