‘Dubey’s death morale booster for cops, martyrs’ kin’

Saturday, 11 July 2020 | PNS | Lucknow

Chairman of National Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Commission and MP  Ramshankar Katheria said that the encounter of most wanted criminal Vikas Dubey had boosted the morale of police and lessened the grief of martyred cops’ families.
After paying tributes to martyred constable Rahul and expressing condolences to his kin in Rurukan village of Auraiya, Katheria said that Vikas Dubey was actually a terrorist who had lived the life of a criminal since childhood.
“Dubey committed the biggest mistake of his life by attacking the police team which led to the martyrdom of eight policemen in the early hours of July 3,” he said.
The MP said that the notorious gangster was arrested by the police in Ujjain (MP) on Thursday but he was gunned down in an encounter while trying to escape by looting a pistol after a car carrying them met with an accident near Kanpur on Thursday morning.
The BJP leader said that both UP and Madhya Pradesh police should be congratulated since the encounter pumped up police morale and the grief of families of martyred policemen was lessened.
“This has also sent out a message to the criminals that death is the punishment for crime.
Hopefully such incidents will not happen in the future,” Katheria said.
