40,000 candidates register on Apna App seeking jobs

In order to aid job seekers with employment opportunities, the mobile application called Apna App launched by the Ranchi district administration on October 27 has received as many as 40,000 registrations so far. The 20- day special placement drive- Ranchi Rozgaar Mela has been initiated to mitigate the adverse effects of Covid- 19 and also provide suitable employment opportunities to the people.

The district administration has signed an MoU with the placement agency- Apna Time and Swaniti Initiative for the mobile app.

“Due to the lockdown a lot of people have lost their jobs which has severely hampered the economic activities. With this mobile app, the district administration aims to facilitate job seekers with proper links to find the right kind of work and earn a livelihood. So far the response received has been very positive,” said the District Public Relations Officer Prabhat Shankar.

People from across Jharkhand can create a profile while all employment will be Ranchi based. Presently, there are approximately 3,700 job openings listed on the platform while about 60 companies are involved in the recruitment process including Zomato, Swiggy, WhiteHat Jr, BYJU’S to name a few. So far as many as 2,100 interviews have been conducted over the phone.

It will take about two- minutes for a candidate to create a digital business card on the platform. Based on the skill set, qualification and past experiences, a prospective organisation is likely to call a suitable applicant within 48 hours.

The vacancies include delivery executives, area sales manager, business development executives, tele callers. The package offered ranges from Rs 7,500 to Rs 60,000.

The mobile app is available for Android devices and can be downloaded from the play store.
