Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with enthusiasm at Central Coalfield Limited (CCL) Headquarter, Ranchi along with the different operational areas of the company. The employees of the company through various activities and programs paid tribute to the father of the nation.
The program commenced with Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD), CCL PM Prasad garlanding the picture of Mahatma Gandhi. He along with Director Technical (P and P), CCL V K Srivastava, Director Finance, NK Agarwal and CVO, SK Sinha offered floral tributes.
Prasad inaugurated the Mahatma Gandhi park at CCL Head Quarter in Ranchi. CMD, CCL planted saplings along with the functional directors and CVO CCL at the park. Swachhta pledge was administered by the CMD to all the employees and other stakeholders present.
Speaking on the occasion Prasad said that the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi are eternal and we should try to follow the philosophy. He stated sincere homage to the Father of the Nation would be when his dream of Swachh Bharat is achieved and everybody should work towards it.
A Swachchta and Covid awareness Rath (Mobile Van) was flagged off by the CMD. The van will travel to different parts of Ranchi and nearby locations to create awareness about Swachcta and Precautions to be taken against Covid Pandemic. Prasad also inaugurated various stalls relating to Khadi and tribal items at CCL Head Quarter. General Managers, HoDs and various other employees were present on the occasion.
Later in the day Prasad inaugurated the Mahatma Gandhi multi skill development center built by CCL under its CSR program near Jonha. The company constructed the center under a MoU with Jharkhand Skill Development Mission society and will provide training and residential facility in different trades to around 100 beneficiaries.
