The infection of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Uttarakhand is continuing to increase at a fast pace. On Tuesday the state health department reported 78 new cases of the disease which increased the count of the Covid-19 in the state to 3686. The health department reported the death of one patient on Tuesday which increased the death toll to 50 in the state.
On the day 11 patients of the disease were discharged from different hospitals of the state. A total of 2867 patients have so far recovered from the disease which puts the recovery rate to 77.78 per cent in the state.The authorities reported the death of a 37 year old female patient at Susheela Tiwari government Hospital, Haldwani, Nainital on the day. This patient was positive for Covid-19 and had died on July 13. Udham Singh Nagar continued its sudden surge in the number of Covid-19 patients as 34 more patients were reported on Tuesday. Incidentally in the last five days 167 out of the total 382 cases reported in the state are from Udham Singh Nagar district.
It clearly shows that the district is emerging as a new hot spot of the disease. On Tuesday 22 patients were reported from Haridwar district while 12 cases surfaced in Dehradun. In Tehri five patients were reported while three and two patients were reported from Pauri and Uttarkashi districts respectively. In Nainital 11 patients of the disease were discharged after their recovery.
The state now has 736 active patients of the disease admitted in different hospitals. Udham Singh Nagar is at top of table in the list of Covid-19 active cases with 254 active cases of the disease.
Dehradun with 173 active cases are at second position and Nainital with 129 active cases is at third spot. Haridwar has 86, Pauri 22, Uttarkashi 21, Champawat 17, Tehri 16 and Almora eight active cases of Covid-19. Pithoragarh has five active cases of the disease; Bageshwar and Chamoli have two active cases each while Rudraprayag has one active case each of the disease.
