During the lockdown of Covid-19, Bokaro Steel Plant is preparing to meet the challenges that will come after the lockdown & ongoing safety of workers. There is a possibility of rapid demand growth in the steel market after lockdown, for which special attention is being paid to proper maintenance and housekeeping of equipment as proactive measures at ground level & seeking recent mishaps in Plant.
The campaign to make the system more organized and clean is going on by housekeeping taking social distancing and other precautions in various departments of BSL like SMS-1, Hot Strip Mill, HRCF, CRM-1 & 2, CRM-3 etc. with an aim to make optimum utilization of time during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Apart from this, the 5-S system of capital repair and workplace management in various departments is also being implemented in a planned manner. These efforts will enable the plant to ensure uninterrupted production without breakdown as per customer demand at the end of lockdown.
