J’khand to rope-in FICCI as industry partner

Jharkhand Government is set to rope-in Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FICCI) as industry partner to accelerate industrial activities in Jharkhand in order to revive economy of the state in post Covid-19 situation.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday gave his sanction to the proposal prepared by the state industry department for the same.  

The department will sign a memorandum of understanding with FICCI under which FICCI will remain industry partner of Jharkhand government for the next two years.

The state government from the past few months was contemplating to rope-in FICCI to accelerate trade commerce and industry in Jharkhand to stop the economic slowdown caused due to Covid-19 lockdown.

During the lockdown over five lakh skilled and semi-skilled workers returned to Jharkhand from different states due to job loss and other factors. The government has planned to use this huge pool of manpower besides natural resources of Jharkhand.

The Government in the coming months will also roll-out facilities to attract investments and to promote ease of doing business so that

There are certain priority sectors in Jharkhand having huge scope like textile and garments making, food processing, pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing, MSME, cottage industry and tourism that the state government wants to develop.

In another development chief minister gave his approval for inclusion of various sub-caste of the Bhuiyan caste under the scheduled caste category. After the chief minister’s approval, the recommendation will be sent to the union ministry of social justice and empowerment.

Earlier in the day, the CM attended a National Cadet Corps (NCC) event on Constitution Day as the chief guest.“Today we have the opportunity to learn a lot about the Constitution. The judiciary has always seen an active role in keeping the rights of common people intact by the Constitution,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that NCC has played an important role in preserving the structure of democratic system, step by step with the Constitution of the country.
